About me – alessiovicaritours
My name is Alessio Vicari and I was born in Rome in 1973.
I grew up in the shadow of the Vatican, and graduated with a degree in Anthropology from Rome’s Universtita’ La Sapienza in 1999.
I have travelled around the world, even bartending in London for two years, I have lived Rome most of my life, and love to share Rome’s history, beauty and “Dolce Vita with the people I meet. As a fully licensed tour guide, certified for the city and surrounding provinces of Rome, I have a long history of providing my clients with an appreciation and knowledge of Roman facts, history, architecture, art and archaeology that should be expected from any Roman tour guide…also worked in the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel ass guard, which gave me an “Insiders knowledge of the practical logistic of getting into and around the Vatican and Vatican museums
What’s more, since I lived and worked in Rome nearly all of my life collaborating with great hotels such as the Excelsior, St Regis Grand, Hotel De Russie and Cavalieri Hilton, I provide my clients with guidance and suggestions on fine dining as well as excellent out-of-the way restaurants serving traditional, local Roman favourites, walks, shopping night life, and any other assistance a traveller might need. Thanks to working with and befriending native English speakers over the course of my life and travels I am completely fluent in the English language
Being traveller myself, I know how important is to be able to count on the help of people you meet in your travels. Because of this, my main goal is to make sure that my clients feel at home in the city I call my home, all while appreciating enjoying and sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for the amazing and Eternal City that is Rome
